Mid-Week update from St Johns
Date: July 29, 2020
First of all – I’d like to say a big “Happy Birthday!” to Shelagh Dunning
for today. It would have been lovely if we could have celebrated in
church, but as we can’t really, Rob and James have sent this over for
everyone to listen to and join in with at home, and hopefully Shelagh, you
will have had a little delivery from St John’s today as well.
This Sunday we will have a short communion service at 10.15am instead of
being open for private prayer. We will be slightly limited as to numbers
as we can only have family clusters sitting together at the marked places
(I think there’s about 20 spots) – hopefully it should be about the right
amount of space as we really don’t want to have to do anything like
ticketed entry, but please bear with us this Sunday if it suddenly becomes
very popular and we can’t fit everyone in.
As an alternative, Stephen will continue to upload Sunday services onto
Soundcloud through August, so if you are not sure about joining a group of
people in church, please don’t feel any pressure to come along, as you will
still be able to listen to the service at home.
I know you are all dying to hear about what’s happened in the porch this
week – but all I’m going to say is, when you are next passing; look up!
We’re off to the Lakes on Friday, so I won’t do an update next week, but in
the meantime, thanks to Peter Haddock who sent this photo to the quiz team
earlier in the week – I immediately knew I had to steal it for this email,
