Mid-Week Update from St Johns

Date: April 30, 2020

Hello All,

I hope everyone has coped alright with the change in weather – I must say,
I’ve enjoyed walking more now it’s a bit cooler, and our garden has really
appreciated the water, but I wouldn’t mind now if the temperature dial
turned back up a bit. (Ooh – one son has just arrived back from an untimely
run – he got completely caught in that flash of rain that just passed over
and looks like a drowned rat, I’m glad I decided to stay inside eating
shortbread.  Son No 2 is busy photographing him)

This week I have been passing the time by asking myself the rhetorical
question of when St John’s might open again – it seems from the news as if
stances on lockdown might be starting to show glimmers of potential
relaxation, and that would be such a lovely Warden problem to have to sort
out.

In the meantime, I’ve had some more amazing garden pics, thanks to everyone
who has sent me photos – this week’s montages are curtesy of Rosie B,
Christine E, Diana T and the Vernells – hard to pick a favourite, but
Diana’s hedge has got to be a contender!

Stephen has had a couple of days off, but his next service should be
shortly online today on https://soundcloud.com/stjohnswimbledon and
thereafter normal online service will be resumed.  We’ve been discussing
whether or not he posts a service every day, or just limits it to a couple
a week, now we can see how many people listen in, we’ll let you know.

Also, to sign off – I know this email is far from political, but someone
sent me the photo below a couple of days ago, and every time I look at it,
it still makes me laugh, so I am inflicting it on you too.

With Love

Jane
