Mid-Week Update from St Johns

Date: March 31, 2021

*The Mount of Olives – seen across the Kidron from the gate into
Jerusalem*

*The Garden of Gethsemane*

Thank you to the Edwards for sending me these pics from their trip to
Jerusalem this time two years ago – it’s the perfect start for an Easter
Week email.

As mentioned in previous emails, we have the following services this
Easter:-

*Maundy Thurs *   8pm Choral Eucharist (Thursday 1st April)
*Good Friday  *       2pm Liturgy of the Passion (Friday 2nd April)
*Easter Sunday*     8.30am BCP Holy Communion (Sunday 4th April)
9.20am Diddy Disciples with
Holy Communion
10.15am Choral Eucharist

We look forward to welcoming those who are able to attend, but Stephen will
also be recording the services so those who feel safer doing so can stay at
home and listen to them on St John’s soundcloud:-

*More tea vicar…*
Sad to say, not a single piece of gossip to pass on this week, maybe I can
just use this slot to give a reminder that the contractors for the lighting
project will be starting on site on Monday 12th April.  Although they will
make the church clean and tidy for us at the weekends, from Monday-Friday
it will effectively be their building site, and anyone who needs to access
the church during this time will need to arrange this with the CES site
foreman.  Hopefully we shouldn’t need to get in too much during the week,
but I know various people do have keys, so just to let you all know, for
our own safety, we can’t just be nipping in and out as we are used to
doing, while the electricians are on site!

You will probably be relieved to know that I haven’t seen any wildlife this
week, so you are safe from those pictures, but Anthea has sent me something
a little more decent from the Isabella plantation which I’m including
below.
