Remembrance Sunday

Date: November 8, 2020

Dear Friends,

In obedience to the new lockdown legislation, from 5th November St John’s
have sadly had to suspend our customary services of BCP Holy Communion and
Choral Communion until December.

Our spiritual provision to the parish continues – we shall be holding
‘Open Church’ each Sunday in the lockdown period from 10:15-11:15am. A
prayer sheet will be available, and please let us know if you would like us
to keep the church open for longer.

During this time please feel free to attend, to sit quietly, to pray, to
read the scriptures, and to listen to the offerings by our Director of
Music, including  *C. Wood – Old 113th Psalm Prelude / G. Thalben-Ball –
Elegy / Arvo Pärt – Pari intervallo / H. Darke – A meditation on Brother
James’ Air / D. Johnson – Trumpet Tune.*

Our online BCP service can be found below, in addition to our main online
Remembrance Day service, which includes hymns, a rendition of Psalm 23 from
Seraphim, and a two minute silence.

The order of service can be found here: Remembrance Online 2020.pdf

If you have perhaps not had the chance to buy a poppy in person this year,
please do consider making a donation to the British Legion online:

With kind regards,
