Sat 24th November 6pm.  Dinner included, a suggested donation of £15 Adults, £10 children.  No need for a whist partner, so perfect whether you are living alone or inundated with family.  If you have a basic understanding of whist (or any card game really) this will be the night for you – it’s fun, sociable and raises money for a great local cause.  Please see Jane Long if you want to know more.

Faith in Action – Urgently needs men’s clothes. If you are having a clean out of your cupboards, they are looking for casual clothes, jeans, polo shirts, T-shirts, jumpers, jackets, anything that would be good for layering as the weather gets colder.  (NB They have plenty of women’s clothes, and can’t use suits or suit-type shirts).  If you bring clothes to St John’s, Jane Long or May Nicholl will take them to FIA.

Wimbledon Food Bank: Thank you for all your generous donations so far. This week the food bank urgently needs: Sugar, toilet paper, rice, tinned fruit, tinned custard and ketchup. (It has plenty of baked beans and pasta.) Thank you all so much!

Merton Night Shelter.  If anyone is interested in helping with the Night Shelter, which runs at St Mark’s on Saturday nights from the beginning of December until the end of January, please could you contact Jane Long, email jane.long@me.com.  Most people sign up for one or two slots, so it’s not onerous, either catering for/manning the shelter.  If you haven’t been before, there is a training session on Sunday 18th Nov 3-5pm at the YMCA in Wimbledon which you need to attend.

If you are unable to give your time but would like to support the Night Shelter, then we need the following:

Oyster cards, medium sized rucksacks, hotel-type towelling slippers, £10 pay-as-you-go phones (bricks), Trainers, steel toe-capped boots (for work), New boxer shorts, new socks – Thank you!  Jane Long
