Lunchtime Recital The next one is on Friday 22nd March at 1pm. Please come along and hear Ruth Stockdale flute and Lydia Newlands piano; Reinecke – Undine Sonata, Telemann – Sonata in F minor, Borne – Fantaisie brilliante on Carmen, Bozza – Aria Refreshments available from 12.30. There will be a retiring collection.

Saturday 23rd March 7.30pm – Japanese Art Songs & Piano by Ryosuke KarakiRyosuke Karaki is a freelance composer based in London. Following on from a successful concert he held in Bologna, Italy in 2017, Ryosuke would like to introduce some aspects of Japanese culture through his pieces here at St John’s. The performers are Atsuko Koyama Soprano and Hiroko Takafuii Piano.Tickets are available on the door of the evening prices from £7 Adults (x2 Adults £10) £5 Concession.

Lent packs for Leprosy Mission are on the charity table. Please take one, as they contain all the information about the project and a 5 min DVD about it. A Lent box, plus other information on the Nepal hospital (which is the centre of the appeal) is also on the table.

What is the Vision of the Diocese of Southwark? Come and find out on Monday 18 March, 7.30-9.00pm at St Saviour’s, Raynes Park (Refreshments from 7pm). Come and hear what is happening in the wider diocese.

The St Mary’s Quiz Night will be held on Saturday 23 March at 7.30pm in the St Mary’s Garden Hall. Teams of Six. Tickets priced £15 for adults and £10 for under 16’s – to include a curry supper and your team’s first bottle of wine – are now on sale from Lucy Uden,  lucy@circuslive.co.uk

Prisoner’s Education Trust present a fascinating talk by Dr Jamie Bennett, Governor of HMP Long Lartin and former Governor of HMP Grendon on ‘‘The transformational potential of prison education” Thursday 28th March 2019 at 7.30pm Wimbledon Synagogue, 1 Queensmere Road, Wimbledon SW19 5QD. Choir of the 21st Century At St John’s Church, 20th April, 7.30pm, the acclaimed London chamber choir, Choir of the 21st Century, under the direction of Wimbledon conductor Max Barley, perform one of J.S. Bach’s choral masterpieces, St John Passion, alongside distinguished soloists and players, as part of Wimbledon’s marking of Passiontide. Mindfulness at St Mary’s An offer for parishioners in the Wimbledon Team Ministry, fellow parishioners and qualified mindfulness teachers. Benedicte Long and
Clare Morgan will be facilitating the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Course at St Mary’s on Tuesdays 7.30-9.30 pm from 30th April until 25th June with the exclusion of 28th May. Pick up a leaflet on your way out for more details or email Benedicte at benedicte.long@yahoo.fr
