Team Prayers at St Mary’s on Thursday at 1.00pm.

12th July – RHS Wisley trip.  If anyone is interested in joining please let Jane Long know. We have a few drivers, so we thought we would share cars.  We’ll probably leave Wimbledon about 10am, but once we know who is coming, we will finalise the time and lifts.

St John’s Christmas Fair will be held on Sat 23rd Nov 12-4pm, primarily to raise money for the re-lighting project, but we will also give some of the money raised to our church charities. Starting this Thurs 20th June, 2-4pm, we are going to meet on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month in the Peter Dixon Room to make things for the craft stall – some examples at the back of church. We thought we would extend this to invite anyone living locally who might want to come along and help us, or just to chat, or to play board games. We’re going to call it

“Crafts & Draughts”. The dates are:

June 20th             Aug 1st                        Sept 19th                        Nov 7th

July 4th                         Aug 15th                        Oct 3rd                        Nov 20th (NB Wed)

July 18th                         Sept 5th                        Oct 17th

In addition, Jane Austin will be running wrapping paper making afternoons at her house – 29th June, 27th & 27th July 2-4pm. Numbers are limited, so please do see her if you would like to join in.

Choral Scholarship Fund: The St John’s Singers were joined by our new choral scholars Rosalind Dobson and Charlie Broad in September 2018 and they were welcomed with open arms. We will be continuing the scholarship scheme this year in order to help students with their ever increasing education fees and to support the St John’s Singers in their important role here at St John’s. Huge thanks must go to those who contributed and continue to support this important scheme, but we now need to raise an extra £4,000 on top of funds already received for this to go ahead. Please get in contact with Rachel or Rob if you feel you would like to contribute.

New Beginners Kung Fu class – Monday 7:30pm in the St John’s hall. Come and learn a classical Chinese martial art at a club which has been teaching in the UK for over 40 years. Everyone welcome – ideal for complete beginners, regardless of ability or fitness! Ages 13 and up. Just turn up – or call Richard on 07983 464 470.
