St John’s Events

Tonight Team Advent Carol Service 6.30PM ‘Looking for the Light’ our Advent Carol Service will be at St Marys on the first Sunday of Advent. The service will be sung by a combined choir from all our churches. We are also looking for someone from St Johns to read Isaiah 45.2-8 during the service, please let Stephen know if you are able.

The Church of England Children’s Society. Hopefully we can beat last years figure of £1,033.53. Every pound, penny and other coins collected in your Box plus any cheques made payable to the Church of England Children’s Society are also most welcome and these vital funds go towards fighting childhood poverty, harm, abuse and neglect and your commitment is vital. Please leave your Box in the Church Vestry or drop it round to 3 St John’s Road by the latest Sun Dec 22nd. Mark Liversedge is happy to come and collect it, if it is more convenient for you. Sun 8th Dec – All Welcome service at 10.15am ‘Decorate the Christmas Tree.’Please do come along and encourage the children to come and decorate the tree during this wonderful family service.

Sun 8th Dec 6.30pm – Blue Advent – for those who struggle with the changing season, and the Christmas celebrations, a quiet service of prayers and readings, reflecting on our struggles during this time of the year. Sunday 8th Dec, 6:30pm.

Shelter Walk Selina Master is taking part in the 10k walk for Shelter on 3 December. Soulscape Returns Thursday 5TH December at St Matthew’s. There will be music chants from 7.30pm for those who would like to come early to pray.
