COMPLINE FOR LENT – join us at 8pm each Monday for a short service of Night Prayer.

FEASTS & FESTIVALS – BCP Matins (9:30am) followed by Shortened BCP Holy Communion with homily (10am) for St Joseph, Thursday 19th Marchnote amended date – and Holy Communion for The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Wed 25th March, 2pm, with The Rev’d Anne Cocking (Holy Trinity, Motspur Park) as our celebrant and preacher.

Sat 28TH Mar 5pm, “MARK’S GOSPEL LIVE” The Rev’d Joseph Morris – a former actor – has performed his one-man show in hundreds of venues in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, including Southwark Cathedral in 2016. This is a superb way for anyone of all ages to prepare for Holy Week on April 5th. (Joseph is coming a long way to perform for us – please do put it in your diary and invite a friend!) Admission: suggested donation of £10. 2hrs with interval.

RIP NIGEL RICHARDS: 11am, Mon 23rd Mar 2020,Thanksgiving Service in Winchester Cathedral with a short reception afterwards with drinks and nibbles. All welcome. Please let Christine Richards know if you would like to come, to give an idea of numbers.

THE WINTER NIGHT SHELTER Annalisa Zisman is still looking for volunteers to help on Saturday evening/night/Sunday morning at St Mark’s Hall from 14th March to April 25th.  Particularly on the cooking rota, but also to fill slots helping in the hall.  If you are able to get involved please contact Annalisa on <>  Training available for those who haven’t helped before.

MARKING LENT – A good way to mark Lent is to read and pray through the daily reflections produced by the Church of England, Reflections for Lent 2020 (Church House Publishing, £5). Alternatively you might prefer Wind, Mountain & Fire (Bloomsbury) by Mark Barrett or for a more gentle read, You are Mine (Bible Reading Fellowship) by David Walker, Bishop of Manchester.

BISHOP OF SOUTHWARK’S LENT CALL – In 2020 we are supporting initiatives supporting food security, water supplies, training and infrastructure in our Link Dioceses of Central Zimbabwe, Matabeleland, Masvingo and Manicaland; The L’Arche community in Bethlehem; The Kaduna Centre for Christian-Muslim Relations (Nigeria), and three local charities in Southwark diocese.

VISIT TO THE CLINK, Wed Mar 11th – Join Catherine & Ursula & other supporters of the Prisoners’ Education Trust at lunch in the Clink Restaurant in High Down Prison near Sutton. TEAM PRAYERS at St Mark’s each Thursday in March at 1.00 pm.

SOULSCAPE, Thurs 5th Mar at St Matthew’s. There will be music chants from 7.30pm for those who would like to come early to pray. The service will begin at 8.00pm and last for around 45 minutes. Everyone is welcome.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER, Fri 6th Mar prepared by the women of Zimbabwe. Services at 10.30am St John Fisher Church, SW20 9DB, and 8pm Christ Church, West Wimbledon SW20 0RZ. Refreshments served after each service, all are welcome.

SOUTHWARK CATHEDRAL BY CANDLEIGHT – Come to the candlelit Cathedral after hours on Friday 6 March as we keep our doors open until 9.00pm, with music playing in the background. Also on this evening, Leigh Hatts, author of The Pilgrims Way published by Cicerone Press will be giving a talk in the Cathedral Library at 6.00pm. Leigh’s talk will detail the historic pilgrimage walk from Southwark to Canterbury. If you wish to attend this talk before heading into the Cathedral then you book your space at
