Update on Services at St John’s
Date: July 6, 2020
Since the 21st June, St John’s is open for private prayer at the following
Sunday: 10:00 – 10:45 (over 70s)
10.45 – 11.45 (all welcome)
Wednesday 6-7pm (all welcome)
A prayer booklet will be available for those who wish to pray in silence.
Thanks to Director of Music, we are now able to provide short periods of
music every 15 minutes.
Although we won’t turn people away, if you are under 70 and able to attend
from 10.45 onwards, leaving the first 3/4 hr for those over 70 who strongly
wish to attend, we would really appreciate you doing this.
The government guidance states: Certain groups of people may be at increased
risk of severe disease from COVID-19, including people who are aged 70 or
older, regardless of medical conditions. Individuals who fall within this
group are advised to stay at home. We entirely understand if people are
still shielding and do not feel able to attend.
Our primary provision for worship remains our online services, but we wish
to offer the opportunity for private prayer as a supplement. Daily service
and Sunday services can be found here:
Music from our choir can be found here:
Reopening for Public Worship
We are delighted that the Government has given permission for places of
worship to begin to reopen. The Church Committee are digesting the various
guidance as regards services, music and social distancing that have recently
been provided – and we hope to soon announce when we can safely reopen.
