Today, Sun 2nd Feb – Candlemas – Evensong 6.30pm
Wed 5th Feb 5:30pm – Eve of the Anniversary of the Accession of HM The Queen. A shortened BCP Communion with homily – giving thanks that God provides for his people and rules them with love.
Thurs 6th Feb, 2-4pm Crafting sessions start again in church, 1st & 3rd Thurs of the month. Do come along, everyone welcome, either to craft or for tea/coffee/cake and a chat.
Sun 9th & 16th Feb St John’s Lighting Project – We are currently finalising a detailed design which we will present to the PCC and Diocese for approval in the spring. Before that, we’d like to show you what we are proposing. We will have a board up at the back of church both Sundays for everyone to look at, and Ursula and Jane will be there to answer any queries on 16th.
Fancy a home-cooked takeaway by Kelly on Valentine’s night? “Kelly’s Kitchen” will be open 14th Feb to collect your pre-ordered evening meal. All profits to our charities. Please see Kelly for a takeaway menu/further details and to place your order.
Lunchtime Recitals take place on the 4th Friday of every month at 1.00pm, featuring local and international professional musicians. The next one is Friday 28th Feb at 1pm; Rebecca Bell soprano Anthea Fry piano Music by B. Britten. Refreshments including coffee and homemade cakes are available before each recital from 12.30pm. There is a retiring collection.

Saturday 28th March 5pm – SAVE THE DATE We are delighted to have The Rev’d Joseph Morris – a former actor, turned priest – all the way from Georgia, USA. He has performed his one-man show — Mark’s Gospel Live — in hundreds of venues in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, including Southwark Cathedral in 2016. This is a superb way for anyone of all ages to prepare for Holy Week on April 5th. (Joseph is coming a long way to perform for us – please do put it in your diary and invite a friend!)
TEAM PRAYERS at St Mary’s on Thursday 6th February at 1.00pm.
SOULSCAPE returns Thursday 6 January at St Matthew’s. There will be music chants from 7.30pm for those who would like to come early to pray. PRE-LENT QUIET DAY: This will take place on 22 February from 10.00am – 3.00pm at St Peter and St Paul (Mitcham Parish Church), Church Road, CR4 3BU. The desert was a place where Jesus came close to God. Come and explore what the desert might mean for you through worship, readings, prayer and silence. No need to book just come along!
ST MARY’S QUIZ EVENING – 29 FEBRUARY The quiz is being organised by the Bellringers this year. There will be an opportunity to purchase more drinks on the evening.

Do you live in Raynes Park? Raynes Park Safer Neighbourhood Team is looking for local representatives to join the local ward panel. They are looking for local residents, businesses and those involved in community organisations such as churches and schools. They hold ward panel meetings every three months in the Raynes Park area.
