Mid-Week News

Date: February 28, 2024

Quite a few things to mention this week, so I’ll just get typing…

Mark Liversedge – update
Julia and Nigel went to see Mark Liversedge in Kent last week.  They said he looked very well, had settled into his new home and was enjoying having his family in the nearby village.  If anyone is passing nearby and would like to see Mark, Julia can pass on his address, and explain how to get there, as he would always enjoy to see visitors from St John’s.

Wimbledon Museum outing
We’ve decided to go to the Wimbledon Museum on Fri 15th March, 3pm.  So if you would like to join the group just let me know – we’ll meet at the museum.

Wimbledon and Putney Commons Conservators – Elections
Our local councillors asked Stephen if we can put a note in the update  as a reminder for those who can vote, about the upcoming elections. If you are within (I think) 3/4 mile of the common, you are able to vote and you should have received your ballot papers.  The details are on this link –

Children’s Society Boxes
Nigel is pleased to announce that St John’s raised a total of £766.25 for this excellent cause.  Many thanks to those who donated so generously, and if you would like to have a box to start collecting this year, please let Nigel know.
